Pitcher of the Day: Top pitching prospect Christian Zazueta(5) continues to dazzle in AA with six innings, two hit, zero run ball. He walked one and struck out eight. All that in only 69 pitches. Kind of a surprise that the development staff did not let him walk out for the 7th inning.

Hitter of the Day: Joendry Vargas(19) has been left behind by his teammate Eduardo Quintero of the last three years, but he’s doing his best to catch up to him. Vargas had four hits including a double, home run, and stolen base. So far in August, Vargas has gone 12 for 28 with six EBH good for a .462/.500/.808 triple slash line.

OKC Dodgers: Lot of offense in this one. Ehrhard(16) had three hits, Ryan Ward(27) had two hits including a home run, Noah Miller(21) had three hits and made another beautiful play at SS. Tibbs(8) was only 1/5.

Tulsa Drillers: Zazueta was the big story, Sirota(3) had two walks but nothing of significance came from the Top 30 in the offensive department. De Paula(1) didn’t play, looks like Kendall George had knee surgery. So if Kendall George had knee surgery and Zyhir Hope is in Detroit why isn’t Eduardo Quintero or Charles Davalan in Tulsa right now?

Great Lake Loons: Oh, maybe that is why Eduardo Quintero wasn’t in the lineup? Davalan(6) hit a lead off home run, his 19th on the season. Harlan(11) blasted his 4th home run the 1st. Jaron Elkins(3) banged out two hits, one walk, and stole his first base. More importantly in five plate appearances, zero K’s. Emil Morales(4) was 0/4.

Ontario Tower Buzzers: Vargas was most of the offense, but Shelton(26) finally did something this week. It had been a very quiet week for Shelton but he did get on base four times with one single and three walks. Lindsey/West were 0/6.
