08/06/2026 LAD Top 30 Prospect Activity
Pitcher of the Day: Zach Root(7) got 18 outs and 10 of them came via the strikeout. Five hits, three earned runs, but zero walks. It is no wonder that Root has started to find himself in some top 100 lists. If he keeps dominating AA like this, he’ll be top 50 by next spring.
Hitter of the Day: Tulsa gave us both the Pitcher and Hitter of the day. Mike Sirota(3) had a perfect day at the plate going 3 for 3 with 2 walks. Included in those three hits was his 10th homer in AA. Given his age, Sirota even more so than De Paula needs to be in AAA. Like now. He could probably replace the overall package of Teo when you consider his LF defense would be top notch along with the added speed he would bring to the team. Evidently the Dodgers couldn’t give away Call to make room for him at the Major League level.
OKC Dodgers: The big story once again in OKC was another Dodger pitcher trying to come back from oblivion. This time it was Gavin Stone who hadn’t pitched since 2024 when he led the ChampionShip Dodgers in innings pitched. Gavin only got five outs, but three of them came via the strikeout. He gave up two hits, and one earned run. In a shocking development, Ehrhard(16) went hitless. That has only happened seven times since July 1st. Tibbs(8) and Ward(27) each collected a single and walk. Still keeping an eye on Halvorsen who got the save by pitching a scoreless ninth innings, striking out the side. Of all the bullpen pitchers in AAA right now, I would bet on Halvorsen being someone who can make an impact in 2026 and definitely in 2027.
Tulsa Drillers: Gelof isn’t top 30 and may never be but he’s just on the cusp. Gelof hit a grand slam good for his 22nd home run of the season. De Paula(1) went hitless but did collect two walks. Wagner was hitless as well with one walk. George didn’t play.
Great Lake Loons: The Loon offense took a break with Emil Morales(4) being the only one of the vaunted Loons to hit a home run. It was the 15th home run for Morales for the Loons giving him a total of 21 on the year in only 374 at-bats. Quintero(2) had a double and two walks while Davalan(6) stroked his own double along with a single and walk. Jaron Elkins(30) trying to show what he can do in High A had a double and single and is hitting .345 so far.
Ontario Tower Buzzers: Lindsey(13) went hitless with 3 K’s, Aidan West(10) banged out two singles and a double, Shelton(26) went hitless with 2 K’s, Ko(12) had two singles, and Vargas(19) also went hitless.
