Pitcher of the Day: Going to change it up a little and give this to Emmet Sheehan who pitched his best game of the year. Unfortunately for Sheehan that game was a AAA game and not a major league game. Still, it was good to see him shove back with a great game. Emmet got 17 outs, struck out eight of them, gave up three hits and two walks, and zero runs. He was aided by an excellent catch by Zach Erhrhard in RCF.
Hitter of the Day: Eduardo Quintero(2) had a perfect day at the plate hitting a single/double and two walks moving his OPS for the year upto .944. Per Baseball America Hot Sheet Quintero is one of five minor leaguers this year hitting .300 with 20-plus doubles, 10-plus home runs, 30-plus steals and fewer than 100 strikeouts. (JN)
OKC Dodgers: Ehrhard(16) had two hits, Ward his two hits including his 15th home run, and Tibbs(8) had two hits. Noah Miller(21) had a single giving him at least one hit in every game in August, thus his August TSL is now .432/.450/.514. Pretty good for a guy whose is considered the best defensive infielder in the system.
Tulsa Drillers: De Paula(1) had a double and walk, Sirota two singles, Hainline(22) was 1/4, and Wagner(29) was 2/4. The big hit was Gelof hitting his 23rd home run. Serinwowski(20) only got 14 outs but struck out seven of them while giving up three runs on six hits.
Great Lake Loons: Davalan(6) had a single and two walks, Emil Morales(4) with a single and three walks. The top three hitters had four hits and seven walks. The new cleanup hitter is Nico Perez(17) who had a single and triple and drove in three runs. With that game Nico moved his OPS above .900 and now the top four hitters for the Loons all have an OPS north of .900. Elkins(30) was 0/2 but with two walks, and Martinus(24) had one single.
Ontario Tower Buzzers: Lindsey(13) went 2/4 with a walk and Ko went 2/4. Vargas went hitless for just the 2nd time in August. West and Shelton sat this one out.
