When Clayton Kershaw cruised through the first inning with three strikeouts you could understand why no-hitter, perfect game, a legendary game were coursing through Dodger fan minds. When a line drive bounced off of Kiké’s glove I even shouted you ruined a perfect game even though it was the second inning. Other fans behind me echoed the same thought. He had looked that good in the first inning.

Little did we suspect that two hours later, Clayton Kershaw would exit with one of the wildest games of his career. Clayton walked six Marlins in just five innings. Only ten times in his career has he walked at least five. Only three times has he walked six. The last time was in 2010.  And it wasn’t just the walks when the Marlins made contact they hit the ball hard. Very hard.
